Feralloy Corporation’s sales team frequently needed freight rate estimates when preparing quotes for customers. However, this information was not readily accessible within their existing systems. Sales representatives often had to pause the quoting process and contact the logistics manager to retrieve the necessary freight data. Because freight shipping depends heavily on logistics details such as shipping lanes and delivery routes, this delay slowed the overall sales process. Solution

Feralloy implemented Geopointe to bring freight rate information and geographic context directly into Salesforce. The logistics manager exports freight rate data for a defined time period from a large spreadsheet containing more than 15,000 rows of information. A streamlined version of this dataset is then imported into Salesforce as a custom object, containing fields such as shipping lane designation, minimum, average, and maximum rates, and the number of runs within a given time frame. Using Geopointe, the sales team can visualize this information on a map, displaying shipping divisions as color-coded pins. By clicking on a pin, representatives can instantly access the relevant freight data while speaking with prospective customers.
